Liturgical Ministries

Each church gathers regularly to praise and thank God,
to remember and make present God's great deeds,
to offer common prayer, to realize and celebrate
the kingdom of justice and peace.  That action of the Christian assembly is liturgy.

(Environment and Art in Catholic Worship)

When the assembly gathers for liturgy all it's members are called to "full and active participation."  In addition to this ministry of the assembly, there are several other opportunities to serve as a Liturgical Minister at Saint Elizabeth Seton.  If you discern a call to serve our community in any of the following ministries, please call the contact person listed for each ministry or call the church office and leave a message for Eileen or email her at efbrans@aol.com.

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist at liturgical celebrations including weekend masses, weddings and funerals.  Servers carry the cross in the procession, hold the Sacrementary for the Presider, and assist in preparing the Lord's table for the celebration of the Eucharist.  Adults and children who have made their First Communion and who want to give their time by assisting in our liturgical celebrations are invited to serve.  Contact Kerrie or Greg Hildebrand at
(860) 346-3304.

Ministers of the Word

Ministers of Welcome

Ministers of Welcome serve our community by fostering a sense of community and friendliness.  Within this ministry are two committees:  greeting and hospitality.  Ministers of  Greeting welcome people as they enter the worship space.  Ministers of  Hospitality foster a sense of welcoming and community by providing refreshments following each mass, as well as at special events throughout the year.
