Pax Christi USA is the national Catholic peace movement.

Its 14,000 members work for the transformation of society through nonviolence and advocate peacemaking as a priority in the Catholic Church in the United States.

Pax Christi’s 230 local and regional groups meet on a regular basis in neighborhoods, parishes, religious congregations and on campuses to pray, study and act for peace with justice. Seton Pax Christi, Saint Elizabeth Seton’s parish group, urges all to prayerfully reflect on the above statement. For information about Seton Pax Christi or Pax Christi USA, please contact Ron Krom at ronkrom@sbcglobal .net or Lisa Eleck at MayIris@aol.com.

Prayer for Pope Benedict XVI

We pray for our Holy Father:

May God inspire his ministry as Pope in the 21st  Century.
May God grant him the wisdom to lead with compassion and the vision to create Christ-like community in our global church. May he stand with those marginalized in poverty everywhere in the world. May he continue John Paul II’s role as prophet of justice and peace.  May the Holy Spirit guide him and fill his heart with the fire of Divine love.

Prayer from the Education for Justice website of the Center for Concern www.edcuationforjustice.org

Advocate for Public Policies

Peacemaking is not an optional commitment.
It is a requirement of our faith.
We are called to be peacemakers,
not by some movement of the moment,
but by our Lord, Jesus.

(U.S. Catholic Bishops, The Challenge of Peace, par 333)

While you are proclaiming peace with your lips,
be careful to have it even more fully in your heart.

                                                                            St. Francis of Assisi
