We believe the Church's social mission
is an essential measure of every parish community...
We need to build local communities of faith
where our social teaching is central, not fringe;
where social ministry is integral, not optional;
where it is the work of every believer,
not just the mission of a few committed people and committees.
(U.S. Catholic Bishops,
Communities of Salt and Light)
As a Christian community striving
to proclaim and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the community of Saint
Elizabeth Seton reaches out in charity to those in need. We also are
increasing our efforts to work for social justice and to promote parish
social ministry as a more integral part of community life. For more
information about any of the ministries below contact a co-chair of the
ministry or Pastoral Minister, Eileen Bransfield, 529-3222 or

Love in Action Prison
Ministry |
 |
This ministry puts the love of
God into action by sharing the Good News of Christ with our sisters
and brothers in prison. Ministers visit three prisons: Cheshire,
Manson and MacDougall. Some people minister by writing on a
regular basis to prisoners on death row. The ministry also
publishes a newsletter six times a year and mails it to inmates on
death row all over the country. The newsletter is called
"Heartbeat" because we are all only a heartbeat away from God and one
another. |
