The Children Sing of the Christ Child

The eleven young singers from our parish whose voices were recorded on our Christmas CD were happy to know that
28 more CDs were sold this season. One of those was an online sale.  The total sale was $336.99 and it has been
deposited to Saint Elizabeth Seton Church.  The total sales for these two years is $811.99.

We thank the eleven singers (one was a boy singer) and their parents for helping us to produce this timeless CD and
    helping to support our parish.

Invitation to Join Youth Choirs

Boys and girls interested in joining SES youth choirs:  NOW IS THE TIME! Registration is open for the month of January only.  Signup sheets are in the foyer or speak to Mrs. Husmer.

Students in grades 2 and 3 will meet on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00. This choir is for beginning singers. They learn to read our hymnals, facts about music and singing as part of a ministry team.  When ready, they’ll sing at Masses with the older group. They will prepare for Easter Mass on April 8. This group learns to play our colorful little hand bells, appropriate for this age group.  Good reading skills are the only requirement.

Students in grades 4 through 8 will meet from 5:00 to 6:15. This group usually sings at Masses at least once a month as well as for Easter, First Eucharist Masses in the spring and other special services.   As ministers of music, they continue to learn hymns, sacred choral pieces, facts about music and liturgy, their faith and to play hand chimes.

Regular attendance for both groups is encouraged since developing team work, skills and good quality music are the goals of this ministry.

Triduum (Easter) Choir Invitation

Triduum is the three day observance that begins on Holy Thursday evening and concludes on Easter Sunday. Holy Week may be a more familiar term.  The choir that prepares for these days will meet on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. beginning on February 2.  Consider joining our music ministry singers for this wonderful liturgical, music, prayer experience.  See any music minister or Elizabeth V. Husmer, Director of Music, for more information OR look for the signup sheet in the foyer.
